Healthy Desserts for your Sweet Tooth

If you have a sweet tooth like me, then you understand the daily struggle of craving chocolate or candy. For me personally, my cravings are the worst in the afternoon at late at night. Sometimes, I just say “what the heck” and indulge, but other times I endure the pain. While there is nothing wrong with treating yourself and indulging, it is best to find a good balance. In order to help you, I am going to share some quick and healthy desserts for your sweet tooth.

Raspberries and dark chocolate

This one may seem extremely obvious – and it is – but I didn’t think about it until I found the idea on social media. You only need two ingredients: raspberries and dark chocolate chips. The best way to eat them together is by putting one or two chocolate chips (depending on the size of raspberries) into the center of the raspberry. This simple healthy treat has become one of my all-time favorite snacks.

Yogurt Bark

This dessert requires a bit more time but is just as simple and delicious. The only ingredients you need are plain Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, vanilla, and whatever toppings you want in it. You can use fruit, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, granola, nuts, etc. I love this recipe because I can be creative. To make it, you simply mix the base ingredients first- the Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla in a bowl. Then, you spread the mixture on a pan lined with parchment paper and sprinkle your toppings on. Lastly, you need to freeze the bark for about 3 hours, and then it’s ready to serve! You can find many recipes for this yogurt bark online. Here is one from eating bird food, that looks delicious!

I scream you scream, we all scream for this healthy, banana-based ice cream!

I love ice cream with a passion. It is my kryptonite when it comes to desserts- well it used to be before I uncovered the deliciousness of banana-based ice cream. This recipe is so simple and so tasty, it’s almost too good to be true. It only requires overripe, frozen bananas, optional milk of your choice, a pinch of salt, and the flavorings/toppings you choose to use. Chocolate Covered Katie, a healthy dessert blog, shares many different banana-based ice cream flavors you can try and instructions on how to make this tasty treat.
