Why you Should Start your Morning with Green Tea
You have probably heard or read about green tea’s many health benefits. Although, you may be someone who doesn’t like green tea or prefers your morning cup of coffee. Nonetheless, I am going to share a few reasons why you should start your morning with green tea. I started drinking green tea every morning instead of coffee because of how great it made me feel! Additionally, there are a variety of ways you can drink it to improve its taste and enjoy this healthy beverage.
Green Tea for…
According to Glow Biotics, “Drinking green tea helps delay aging, protect the skin from UV rays, improve skin tone, and reduce acne.” These amazing benefits are due to its antioxidant vitamins which include B2, E, K, and catechins. Green tea also has special micronutrients that help kill bacterial inflammation present in those with acne.
Green tea contains two ingredients that help fight obesity and promote weight loss: caffeine and tea catechins. According to the National Library of Medicine, these ingredients taken together have a positive effect on thermogenesis (burning energy through heat production) and fat oxidation (breaking down fat).
Green tea has around 35mg of caffeine per 8-oz, but Healthline reported that this number varies depending on a few factors. These factors include the type of green tea plant, its growing conditions, and the way it’s processed and brewed.
How to Drink Your Green Tea
Hot or Iced:
Just like coffee, you can drink your green tea hot or on ice. I prefer to drink it on ice because it is refreshing and I enjoy the taste better.
Sweetened or Unsweet:
The great thing about green tea is that it tastes great unsweet. If you choose to sweeten it, add a natural sweetener like honey. When I drink my tea iced, I like to add a splash of orange mango juice!
