It will help you climb mountains – literally. I made this the other day before hiking the incline- a 2,744 stair climb up Pikes Peak.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • Half a scoop of vanilla protein powder (I used Orgain Organic Protein Powder)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Splash of milk (optional)
  • 1/4 cup of blueberries
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granola (I used French vanilla almond granola)

Directions

Firstly, combine the quick oats, protein powder, and water into a microwavable bowl and microwave for around a minute and a half (the time depends on your preferred consistency). Next, add a splash of milk to make your oats creamier. Lastly, mix in the blueberries, cinnamon, and granola to your oats and enjoy.

Health Benefits of Blueberries blueberries

One of the major health benefits of blueberries according to a Healthline article, is that they are rich in antioxidants. Compared to other fruits and vegetables, they contain the most antioxidants – substances that “protect the cells against free radicals,” according to the Mayo Clinic. These radicals can contribute to health problems and diseases such as heart disease and cancer. They are created “when the body breaks down food or when you’re exposed to tobacco smoke or radiation” (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research).
