Why Cardio Kickboxing is a Great Workout
Last March or April when gyms began to shut down, all workout equipment vanished from the stores. It was harder to find a set of dumbbells than it was to find a roll of toilet paper. No one knew how to navigate what would become our “new normal.” Honestly, I hate that phrase right about now. It makes me want to punch something. Wish could you punch and kick out your pent-up rage from 2020 as well? Then keep reading to learn why cardio kickboxing is a great workout!
You can do cardio kickboxing at home
Yep, you read that right. You can pull up a video on Youtube and punch and kick away (just make sure you don’t hit the T.V.). There are places that do offer kickboxing lessons and classes, but the best way to start is in the comfort of your own home. If you decide you want to take it up a notch you can invest in boxing gloves and a punching bag.
This workout targets many muscle groups
According to WebMD, cardio kickboxing targets muscles in your core, arms, legs, glutes, and back.
It is fantastic for your body
Another reason why cardio kickboxing is a great workout is because of what it does for your body. It is an aerobic workout that increases flexibility and strengthens your muscles. It also helps with coordination and balance.
Cardio kickboxing is so much fun!
Honestly, cardio kickboxing is my favorite way to get cardio in. It never gets old because there are so many combinations of punches and kicks you can do. Punches include jabs, crosses, uppercuts, and hooks. The types of kicks include front, back, side, and roundhouse kicks. You can also throw some knee strikes into the mix.
